London Titans lead QPR’s support for Football v Homophobia

LONDON Titans FC, QPR’s LGBT (lesbian, gay, bisexual or transgender) friendly partner club, are helping the club put its weight behind an international campaign to combat homophobia.
The Titans – who this season proudly sport the QPR in the Community Trust logo on their shirts – are leading this year’s support for Football v Homophobia (FvH).
FvH is a campaign uniting fans, players, communities, grassroots teams, professional clubs and the Football Authorities in opposing homophobia and prejudice against LGBT people in football.
Year round, FvH enables people to take action against prejudice and discrimination based on sexuality or gender identity in football, and to celebrate and welcome diversity in the game.
Joey Barton was at the forefront of the R’s support last year, and David Simpson, London Titans Chairman, is pleased to be following suit by teaming-up with Rangers for 2015.
“London Titans are thrilled that QPR are supporting Football v Homophobia and the focus that this helps to bring to the campaign,” he told www.qpr.co.uk.
“As an LGBT-friendly club, we continue to work at a grassroots level to tackle homophobia both on and off the pitch.
“In addition this year we have begun working with QPR in the Community Trust, launching our 2014/15 kit including the Trust’s logo, to help raise awareness of the issue.
“We look forward to continuing these joined-up efforts.”
QPR will be showing their support prior to Saturday’s Premier League clash with Southampton at Loftus Road, while QPR Ladies will follow in their footsteps by wearing FvH t-shirts prior to their Capital Women’s Cup quarter final with KIKK United on Sunday.
