SCHOOL ASSEMBLY/WORKSHOPS (KEY STAGE 2)


Duration:

Assemblies and workshops can be delivered within school timetables as required (From 20 minutes for an assembly to an hour’s lesson/workshop).

Content:

Our assembly explains what homophobia is and explores how inclusion can make sport fun for everyone. It highlights how pupils can be role models for inclusion within their own schools.

Our workshop helps pupils understand what homophobia is and how it impacts everyone. It raises awareness of homophobic name-calling, language and bullying and highlights how being a good team-mate can make sport inclusive and fun for everyone.

Content:

Pupils will explore key questions such as ‘Who is sport for?’ and ‘Why do many LGBTQ+ people not feel welcome in sport?’ Pupils also explore language that can be hurtful to others and have the opportunity to discuss stereotypes in sport and wider society. Pupils learn about LGBTQ+ sports heroes, the work of Football v Homophobia, and how they can make a difference in their school and on their team.engagement.
